Using a Scientific Calculator

A Scientific calculator can be described as an advanced version of the typical handheld calculator or computer application that you might use. It usually includes trigonometric functions such as sine and cosine exponential functions such as square root and various mathematical functions. Some expensive scientific calculators even include graphic and problem-solving capabilities.

There are some basic scientific calculations in the School for Champions lessons . We also have an internet-based calculator to use. You can access it in the lessons which contain examples of calculation. This lesson includes instructions to utilize this calculator.

Scientific Calculator

Clearing

If you type in a number in error, you can use the C key to erase that number. It doesn't clear prior calculations.

  2. Input the numbers 12 and 3 only to realize you actually meant to type 13, rather than 3.

Note

Be aware that different calculators employ different phrases to clear entries. A lot of calculators utilize C to clear an entry , and AC to clear everything, similar to our calculator. Memory

sin, cos, tan, inv

Trigonometry functions that are used in trigonometry regarding angles are sin ( sin), cosine ( cos) and the tangent ( tan).

  • If you would want to determine the sine value of 30 degrees of angle, enter 30 before hitting the sin button. The result should be 0.5.

inv
